A huge majority of the Aston Villa fans that voted in our poll want Conor Hourihane to start against Rotherham on Tuesday evening after his last minute free-kick secured a point for Steve Bruce’s side against Blackburn on the weekend.
The Irish midfielder came off the bench to replace Mile Jedinak just after Bradley Dack had put Blackburn ahead on Saturday, and it was a substitution that Bruce should be credited for. In the last minute of stoppage time, Hourihane curled a beautiful free-kick past David Raya to level the scores.
Villa fans have now been clear in their message to Bruce though that they want the 27-year-old to start after his stunning equaliser, with 92 per cent of those who answered our poll backing Hourihane.
If the Villa boss is looking for a more attacking line up then he could potentially drop Jedinak to the bench and play Hourihane alongside Jack Grealish and John McGinn in central midfield.
