According to results from our recent poll, the majority of Aston Villa fans would love to sign Chelsea's Gary Cahill this month - Maurizio Sarri doesn't envisage the defender as part of his plans and is willing to let him go out on loan.

The Italian confessed that, while Cahill may be the best defender of the bunch, he doesn't have the technical ability to succeed in the new system, however there is no doubt he would be a huge asset for any team who simply needs to keep the ball out of the net a bit more.

Villa would benefit greatly from having a leader to regiment their backline and could very much do with having coach John Terry back on the pitch, however, the 38-year-old could give just about the next best thing by bring former teammate Cahill to Villa Park.
