Steve Bruce would be making big mistake by re-signing Axel Tuanzebe

Aston Villa are interested in re-signing defender Axel Tuanzebe on loan from Manchester United according to The Birmingham Mail.

What’s the story?

The 20-year-old centre-back is a product of the Manchester United academy and broke into the first team in 2017 under Jose Mourinho.

The youngster was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of last season but his campaign was hampered by injuries and he only made five appearances for the club.

Now according to reports, Steve Bruce is keen to bring the defender back to Villa Park next season on loan, as their financial situation means they will struggle to sign players for a fee.

Not a sensible move by Bruce

Tuanzebe didn’t have much of a chance to impress for Villa last season, but even when he did start he didn’t really show the quality he should have given he is a Man United player.

Additionally, Villa’s FFP problems mean that they will likely be utilising their youngsters during the 2018/19 campaign, and they would be better off using those rather than loaning in another that will block their pathway to the starting XI, and one who doesn’t really care about the club as much.
