Orjan Nyland finally made his Premier League debut during Aston Villa's clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

The 29-year-old had not even been in the squad for a top-flight fixture ahead of the match against Wolves, who ran out 2-1 winners on home soil.

Number two Jed Steer - featuring in place of the injured Tom Heaton - was forced off the field in the early exchanges, though, which allowed Nyland to earn some first-team minutes.

The Norway international could not prevent his side from suffering a defeat in their final match before the November international break.

However, judging by the reaction on social media, the Villa fans were pleased with what they saw from the stopper on the afternoon.

Indeed, many took to Twitter to praise Nyland's display at Molineux, with a number pleased to see him back in action after overcoming a ruptured Achilles.
