Aston Villa’s 2-1 victory against Burnley is massive for the club amid their relegation-threatened season back in the top flight.
While the three points and performance will be encouraging, especially after the 3-0 loss against Watford, it has come at a cost.
Dean Smith had already seen Wesley stretchered off, when Tom Heaton suffered the same fate in the 82nd minute, after trying to keep out Chris Wood’s header that made the score 2-1.
82′ | The stretcher is out again, this time for @TomHeatonGK.
He injured himself trying to keep out Wood’s header and will be replaced by @OrjanHNyland1.

The 33-year-old being stretchered off made many Villa fans feel as though their club is “cursed” with the injuries they have been getting.
Indeed, Wesley was forced off just 14 minutes before, while John McGinn also sustained a lengthy injury recently.
They will now be hoping that their luck changes in this regard as they fight to maintain their Premier League status.
