Bayern expecting to sell Man United & Liverpool target

Bayern Munich are braced for January offers from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United for wantaway winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Swiss ace was heavily linked with a switch away from the Bundesliga champions over the summer, but the Bavarians held firm to keep the 23-year-old.

Initially Shaqiri appeared happy to stay and continue his battle for first-team football, but with his playing time having remained limited, he’s now ready to leave in a bid to get his career back on track.

Liverpool and United – who both made moves during the last window – are expected to return for the stocky wide-man, but the likes of Spurs and Juventus are also monitoring the situation.

Reports indicate that Bayern are willing to offload their man for the right price – rumoured to be near £20m – with manager Pep Guardiola having deemed him to not be a key player.

The English sides interested have been further boosted by claims from Schalke big-shot Horst Heldt that his side are not watching Shaqiri.

The World Cup star shone for Basel before joining Bayern in 2012.
