The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been consistently aligned with moves to the Premier League in recent transfer windows despite only joining the Ligue 1 champions from Napoli in 2013.
And the window just gone was no different, with Arsenal understood to have been interested in the Uruguayan international as the deadline approached, while Man United were also said to be looking at the 28-year-old as they plotted their own attacking additions.
Eventually Cavani stayed in Paris, however when quizzed on links with the two English sides and Serie A champions Juventus, he told Journal du Dimanche that he could have moved had he wanted to, but that he’s sure the Parc des Princes is the right place for him:
“Many transfer opportunities presented themselves,” he said.
“But PSG has always trusted me, this is the club who can give me what is better.”
Cavani has often been forced to play from a wide role to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG, which has fuelled transfer speculation in the past.
