According to the Telegraph, Nigerian international and current Lazio midfielder Eddy Onazi has reportedly been claiming that as many as 10 different clubs are supposedly interested in landing his signature for next season – several of which believed to be from the English Premier League.
Both Liverpool and West Ham are apparently among the said teams to want to stake a claim in Onazi, despite the 22-year-old seemingly arriving as a player with little experience in the top-flight game.
The Nigerian has nevertheless stated his desire to remain in Rome and develop his own individual talents before testing them elsewhere: “I was approached by more than 10 clubs, but I am a Lazio player.
“I’m still young, I want to grow and play in European competitions. In life you have to take one step at a time.”
Onazi is likely to be valued at just under £10 million – despite lacking a reputation as a guaranteed star for the future.
He has however represented his nation at several youth team tournaments and has apparently shone in front of many European scouts looking to bring the young talent under their wing sooner rather than later.
