Bournemouth eyeing ex-West Ham free agent amid injury crisis (not Carlton Cole)

Bournemouth are considering offering Ricardo Vaz Te a contract following a series of injury set-backs, according to reports from HITC.

The Cherries are currently in their first ever season in the Premier League, and after making a positive start to the campaign, injury issues have somewhat derailed their hopes of staying up.

Star striker Callum Wilson and major summer buy Max Gradel have both been struck down with long-term knee injuries, which has left manager Eddie Howe rather short of options in the final third.

And reports claim that Vaz Te could be brought in to ease concerns, with the former Portugal U-21 international a free agent after being released by Turkish outfit Akhisar Belediyespor over the summer.

He’s set to train with the South Coast side over the coming few days, at which point he could be signed and thrust straight into the club’s first-team plans regardless of the transfer window being closed.

Sunderland and West Brom are also thought to be watching the situation closely, but regular football may be easier to come by at Dean Court for Vaz Te.

The winger played for West Ham until the London club terminated his contract halfway through last season.
