After a draw at West Brom last weekend and another level result away at Bayer Leverkusen in midweek, many were expecting Spurs to get back to winning ways at Bournemouth today. After all, the Lilywhites remain the only unbeaten side in the Premier League this season and are firmly in the hunt, albeit it’s still early, for the title.
However, the Cherries held their London opponents to a 0-0 draw at the Vitality Stadium in a game that could have gone either way. The Dorset side started brightly and edged the first-half, but the Lilywhites grew back into proceedings in the second 45, knocking at the door in the process.
Yet, they didn’t get the answer they so craved against Bournemouth, with Steve Cook’s heroics at the back key in his side’s winning of a point.
As the numbers show, the 25-year-old was an absolute goliath at the back for his team, winning all of his aerial duels and tackles while making 14 clearances and not committing a foul.
What a showing!
