Bournemouth’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City at the weekend compounded their February misery – the Cherries lost three of their four games last month, conceding 11 goals.
Eddie Howe’s side got off to a stellar start to the campaign, impressing with their thrilling style, although now they are in danger of completely falling off if they don’t right the results soon.
Nathan Ake, who won the Cherries’ fan-voted player of the month, has spoken in detail about his journey to Chelsea and then to the Vitality Stadium, also hinting that he has found the past few weeks extremely difficult.

Asked what irritates him most in or out of football, the defender said:
“In football it’s when we lose, I hate that. Outside of football? Nah, I’m quite easy going. Sometimes my missus, it’s hard for her because when I met her everything was straight but I was a bit more laid back. She’s had to adapt to me a little bit and I think she has over the years.”
The 23-year-old will surely have taken his side’s woeful run to heart, then. Not to worry though, Ake, the Cherries face Huddersfield this weekend and, as far as opportunities to get back to form come, it doesn’t get much better than a visit from the Terriers, who remain rock bottom of the Premier League.
Ake has become a fixture in Howe’s starting XI since arriving from Chelsea in 2017 and, while he will want to forget the past few weeks, has had a fantastic season overall; he will surely be the target of a number of top clubs in the summer.
