Following the news of Lewis Cook's season ending injury that will rule him out for up to nine months, Bournemouth will need to sign a replacement in January or risk seeing their season become derailed as their best midfielder sits out.

£25m summer arrival Jefferson Lerma has been outstanding alongside Cook, but isn't good enough to fill the void left by the 21-year-old alone. Against Liverpool last time out, where the Cherries lost 4-0 at home, Andrew Surman started in Cook's absence, and failed to cover the sorely missed talents of the England international.

Dan Gosling is next in line behind Surman, and he doesn't come close to the ability of Cook. In light of all these factors, we asked Bournemouth fans if they'd like to see former Swansea playmaker Jonathan de Guzman arrive on the South Coast.

The Dutchman has enjoyed a resurgence at Eintracht Frankfurt following a botched spell at Napoli, and most Cherries' fans seem to think he still has the talent to play Premier League football.

A whopping 88% of them who voted want their club to sign the 31-year-old to cover Cook, as shown by the results below...
