You can understand why Bournemouth fans are feeling more than a little trepidation about facing Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.

The Cherries travel to the Emirates Stadium to face a Gunners side who haven't lost in 18 games in all competitions and currently sit fourth in the Premier League.

To make matters worse, Bournemouth have never beaten the North London outfit and lost both games against them 2-0 last season.

There are a few reasons for optimism for Eddie Howe's men, however, as they prepare to line up against an Arsenal side depleted by injuries.

Spanish duo Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla are set to miss out - two players the Gunners haven't looked as good without over the last few weeks.

There are also a few statistics buried under all the pre-match predictions of an Arsenal walkover that could be of some encouragement for the travelling fans.

Here are three stats that suggest Bournemouth will cause an upset versus Arsenal.

GUNNERS NOT AS SOLID AT HOME

Considering how strong the Gunners have been at the Emirates Stadium over the last few seasons, their home form this term comes as a big surprise.

The Gunners have earned just 11 of their 25 points this season as hosts, and have also conceded two thirds of their goals on home turf.

Top scorer Alexis Sanchez has also only managed one of his five goals in home comforts, possibly as a result of teams sitting back and denying him any space in the box. If Howe adopts a similar tactic they have a good chance of shutting Arsenal out.

CAZORLA IS A BIG MISS

Santi Cazorla

It's no secret that Arsenal's rhythm has been disrupted since Santi Cazorla has been sidelined, and the results certainly show it.

The Gunners have picked up just one win in the four Premier League games the diminutive playmaker has been absent for, and have only managed to score more than once against a struggling Sunderland in that period.

Rather than just dictating the tempo, Cazorla is clearly a key part of the Arsenal attack. Him missing out can only be a good thing for Bournemouth.

STANISLAS WILL TORMENT RIGHT-BACK

AFC Bournemouth v Sunderland - Premier League

Junior Stanislas has been in fine form for Bournemouth since returning to the first team.

The 26-year-old has three goals and three assists in his last five games and could have a field day against an Arsenal side missing one of their key defenders.

Hector Bellerin will be a big miss for the Gunners, and Stanislas will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing the shaky Carl Jenkinson or possibly even Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - who had a cameo at right-back against Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain.
