Manchester United and Liverpool’s hopes of landing Roberto Firmino this summer have taken a hit, with the player having revealed that he’s keen to stay at Hoffenheim.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder has emerged as one of the Budnesliga’s top talents in recent times, with his 22 league goals since the start of the 2013/14 season impressive.

This form has alerted both United and Liverpool, with the pair thought to be pondering summer moves for his signature.

However, the classy South American – who netted an amazing ‘no look’ goal for Brazil in their recent international friendly win over Chile – says that he’s more than happy just where he is:

“I have a contract with Hoffenheim until 2017 and I’m happy here,” he is quoted by Goal.

“I have developed a lot at this club and right now all I’m thinking about is playing for Hoffenheim.”

Firmino is most comfortable in a central attacking midfield role, although he can play on either flank or as a striker.

He joined Hoffenheim from Figueirense in 2011.
