Jurgen Locadia was the name on Brighton fan’s lips after the club’s record signing scored on his debut in a 3-1 victory over Coventry in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Bought in the January transfer window for £14m from PSV Eindhoven, the Dutch international got on the end of Anthony Knockaert’s low cross on the quarter-hour mark to fire Brighton into the lead.
Having had his debut postponed by a hamstring injury, Locadia had three other good chances to score before halftime including a cut-back he missed completely from 12 yards out
The Netherlands international is no stranger to a strong debut, having netted a hat-trick in his first game at PSV.
Leonard Ulloa also scored his first goal having returned to Brighton on loan from Leicester and Conor Goldson also scored as the south coast club eased into the second round.
Brighton fans certainly think Locadia has a bright future at the club ahead of him, as evidenced by these Twitter reactions..
Now watched the highlights from yesterday and I agree with Jonathan Pearce that Locadia will be very dangerous once he is full match fit and gets some sharpness back. He was great yesterday but not quite razor sharp where we want him. #bhafc

His stellar performance even led some fans to suggest that the Seagulls record purchase was in fact a bargain buy.
Lucas Moura is an obvious bargain, but he's not Jurgen Locadia #ROCTOT #bhafc

And it wasn’t simply Locadia’s footballing skills that impressed one fan:
Love this track by @OfficialBHAFC 's new striker. One of the few really good songs by a footballer. #bhafc #locadia #cantletgo https://t.co/57sIhn4VoS
