Brighton and Hove Albion ended West Ham United’s three match unbeaten streak with a 1-0 victory at the Amex Stadium on Friday night. The game was an entertaining clash that saw both sides have plenty of chances to add to the scoreline. Ultimately, however, the home side’s talisman, Glenn Murray, once again made himself a hero to the Seagulls faithful.

The 35-year-old broke the deadlock in the 25th minute by prodding home Beram Kayal’s cross. Despite the best efforts of centre-forward Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Pellegrini’s Hammers could find no reply and Murray’s goal proved to be the difference between the sides.

The veteran striker now has 99 career goals for Brighton and will be desperate to reach his century as soon as possible, a feat that would surely see him claim the status of a club legend.
