George Boyd scored a beauty of a volley to put his side 1-0 up against Manchester City in this evening’s Premier League fixture. Boyd caught the ball well on the half-volley to steer it into the far corner and past England keeper Joe Hart.
It had been a tight affair until the winger opened up proceedings with the home team doing well to keep the Premier League champions at bay. City were not at their fluid best and struggled to create much, finding themselves limited to half chances.
However, Manuel Pellegrini will be confident that his side can get back into this game as no team has stopped Manchester City from scoring in their last 20 Premier League away matches.
As well as this, there have been 45 goals scored in the last nine matches between Burnley and Manchester City in all competitions, so it would seem unlikely that there will not be more chances for City to get back into this game.
George Boyd might not be the best player but he's a grafter, always appreciate a grafter! Great goal also!
