Cardiff City fans were ecstatic with Sol Bamba’s late contribution against Brighton

Cardiff City registered their second victory of the Premier League season and moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.

Whilst Brighton will feel aggrieved to have left with nothing, the newly-promoted Bluebirds will feel as though their campaign is finally up and running.

Brighton went ahead early at the Cardiff City Stadium as centre-back back Lewis Dunk lost his marker, Sol Bamba, all too easily and converted Solly March’s delivery. However, Neil Warnock’s side hit back through Callum Paterson, leaving it all square at half time, but with the visitors down to 10 men following Dale Stephens’ rash challenge.

As a tense second half drew to a close it seemed as though it would end up all square before Bamba attempted an audacious and acrobatic bicycle kick in the 90th minute that crashed off the post. Fortunately, for the Welsh side, the rebound fell back to the defender who made no mistake in putting the ball away this time.

With mere moments to go, Bamba had made up for his early mistake that led to Dunk’s goal and become a match-winning hero in Wales.

After the game, plenty of Cardiff fans took to Twitter to celebrate Bamba’s dramatic antics…
