Ahead of Saturday's North London derby, much of the focus has been on Tottenham Hotspur's rise.

Mauricio Pochettino has transformed the team into Premier League title challengers having guided them to third and second in the last two seasons.

Arsenal, on the other hand, regularly fail to launch a serious assault on the race and in the 2016-17 campaign the club missed out on a Champions League place.

Tottenham have a four-point advantage over their North London rivals as they currently sit in third place, which has led many to suggest that Pochettino's men are favourites for victory at the Emirates this weekend.

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has tried to bring his rivals back down to Earth, though, by reminding them of their lack of silverware.

Tottenham have not won a trophy since the 2007-08 campaign when they sealed the League Cup.

Since then, the Gunners have won three FA Cups, and in the club's history they have scooped 13 league titles, while Spurs have been league winners just twice.

Ahead of this weekend's derby, Cech insisted that Arsenal remain the dominant club out of the two.

The shot-stopper told Sky Sports:

"No I don't think [there has been a power shift]. There is always one odd year where things can change, but the most important thing for us is competing against the other teams for the Premier League title and for the glory.

"We are not competing against Tottenham Hotspur. Two years ago when we finished above them we were disappointed because we didn't win the title. Our target is to win the title and be successful during the season, not necessarily looking at what Tottenham are doing."
