Chelsea and Manchester United keen on £25m La Liga ace

Alberto Moreno (Sevilla)Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring the progress of Sevilla full-back Alberto Moreno, according to reports from Estadio Deportivo.

The 21-year-old has quickly emerged as one of Spain’s brightest talents after a string of impressive La Liga displays.

His progress has caught the attention of both United and Chelsea, who are both keen to land the young left-back in January.

The Red Devils are known to be looking at potential alternatives to Patrice Evra – whose contract expires at the end of the season – while Jose Mourinho is shopping for talented starlets to build a strong future team at Chelsea.

However Sevilla are far from keen to sell Moreno, and president Joe Maria del Nido has previously indicated that only a release clause-triggering £25m offer will be enough to the defender.

Moreno was one of the Spanish U-21 side’s top performers during their successful European Championship campaign over the summer, and was rewarded for his fine displays with a call-up to the senior squad in October, where he made his debut against Georgia.

If he continues to develop at his current rate he is expected to travel to next year’s World Cup to help La Roja defend their crown.

Should Chelsea or Manchester United move for Alberto Moreno?
