Chelsea and Tottenham are both planning to move for Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez in January, as reporting by MirrorFootball.
The Colombia international has struggled to make a significant impact at Atletico since signing from Porto for £29million in the summer, managing just three goals in 12 appearances.
MirrorFootball are reporting that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is willing to allow Martinez to leave on loan until the end of the season, with London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham both interesting in taking the striker off their hands.
Chelsea have struggled for goals this season, with Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy all failing to produce consistently in front of goal.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are almost totally reliant on Harry Kane’s form and fitness and White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing in another established striker to his ranks in January to lighten to the load on Kane’s shoulders.
Martinez is believed to be open to a move in January as he looks for regular first team football.
