Schalke’s director of sport Horst Heldt has revealed that neither Lukas Podolski nor Andre Schurrle are January targets for his club.
Podolski has seen his minutes come, on the most part, in cup competitions, while Schurrle’s attacking instincts are rumoured to be of concern to Jose Mourinho.
With Schalke thought to be in the market for additions this winter, the double act have both been linked with switches to Gelsenkirchen, but Heldt says that there is no truth in the speculation:
“We’re not considering Andre Schurrle at all,” he is quoted by talkSPORT. “And the same goes for Xherdan Shaqiri and Lukas Podolski.”
Arsene Wenger has recently out the sale of Podolski, while the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham are thought to be watching Schurrle.
The duo were both involved in Germany’s World Cup triumph over the summer.
