Chelsea eyeing surprise signing to replace Arsenal bound Cech

Chelsea want to replace Arsenal bound Petr Cech with Stoke City stopper Asmir Begovic, according to the Express.

The Express reported yesterday that Arsenal were on the verge of an £11million deal to bring Cech to the Emirates Stadium after the Czech lost his first team spot at Stamford Bridge to Thibaut Courtois.

And now they’re claiming Blues boss Jose Mourinho is hoping to lure Begovic away from the Britannia Stadium, and is hoping to convince Stoke in to a straight swap deal involving Victor Moses.

The Express are reporting Mourinho has identified Begovic as the ideal replacement for the departing Cech and is keen to a get a deal over the line this summer.

Moses impressed during a loan spell with the Potters last term and is unlikely to return to the Blues having not appeared for them since 2013.

Cech’s move to Arsenal is set to be officially announced imminently.
