Chelsea & Man United boosted in race for Juve ace

Manchester United and Chelsea have been given a major boost in the race for Claudio Marchisio, with Juventus thought to be open to selling the midfielder, according to reports from The Express.

The Serie A champions suffered a shock elimination from the Champions League earlier this week, after a loss to Galatasaray.

Dropping into the Europa League is set to cost the club around £17m, money they had factored into their budget at the start of the season.

As a result players may be sole, with Marchisio, according to reports, one that could be heading out of the door.

This has alerted the Premier League trio, who have all been linked with the 27-year-old in recent months.

United are believed to be at the front of the queue, with David Moyes desperate to add to his midfield ranks.

But Chelsea could also make a move, while Liverpool are believed to be watching the situation following Steven Gerrard’s injury.

Although he is a key player for Antonio Conte’s side, Marchisio is seen as less important that Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal, who have often been lauded as two of the finest central midfielders in European football.
