Riyad Mahrez has to be the biggest bargain in Premier League history.
Costing Leicester City just £700k from Le Havre in 2014, the Algeria international went on to be the Premier League’s player of the season, contributed 17 goals and 11 assists to the Foxes’ sensational title winning campaign.
Such an amazing season was always going to result in the 25-year-old being linked with a big money move away from the King Power Stadium this summer, and after a relatively quiet first few weeks of the transfer window, speculation about his next club has gone in to overdrive.
It was being reported last week that Arsenal were on the verge of signing Mahrez in a sensational £41m swoop, but now that looks to be up in the air – thanks to Adidas.
The brand recently uploaded the option to buy a Chelsea shirt with Mahrez’ name and the No.7 on the back on their website.
It was removed pretty swiftly after it was leaked on Twitter, but it gave us all a huge hint that Mahrez may be on the verge of following former Foxes teammate N’Golo Kante to Stamford Bridge this summer, instead of joining London rivals Arsenal.

It may have been an honest mistake, but if Chelsea do now go and gazump Arsenal then you can just image the tragic meltdown among Arsenal fans that’ll inevitably follow.
