According to Kicker (via The Metro), Chelsea are on alert as Bayern Munich are looking to offload midfielder Arturo Vidal next summer.

What’s the Story?

Following a number of unimpressive performance, the hierarchy at Bayern Munich are considering the future of Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal and may sell the former Juventus star next summer.

This, according to reports, could reignite Chelsea’s interest in Vidal, who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on a number of occasions over the last 18 months.

Antonio Conte was the man who purchased Vidal and bought him to Juventus in 2011. The two enjoyed a remarkably successful spell together and it is though that Conte remains an admirer of the 30-year-old.

How good has Vidal been this season?

For a man whose club believes is underperforming, Vidal has still produced some fantastic displays in the Bundesliga.

The Chilean, who is valued at £31.5million by Transfermarkt, has featured in 14 games in all competitions for the German Champions, netting just once. However, his bustling, all-action midfield play has still looked markedly impressive as Vidal continues to solidify his position as one of the best midfielders in world football.

Would Vidal be a good signing for Chelsea?

Unquestionably. While Vidal may be entering the twilight stages of his career, he still remains a world class talent. His strength and skill in midfield are perfect for the Premier League; it is surprising that he has yet to try his hand at English football.

As long as Antonio Conte remains in charge of Chelsea, this transfer could certainly happen.
