Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois could be forced to miss out the Blues’ Premier League meeting with Everton on Saturday, as reported by MailOnline.
The Belgium international suffered an ankle injury during training on Wednesday and now faces a 48-hour battle to be fit in time for the trip to Goodison Park.
The stopper will undergo tests to discover to the extent of his injury and as a result remains a huge doubt to feature against the Toffees.
Blues summer signing Asmir Begovic will be called upon should the 23-year-old lose his race to be fit in time for the game.
Begovic, who arrived from Stoke City in an £8million deal last month, deputised for Courtois earlier in the season after the Belgian was sidelined through suspension after seeing red in Chelsea’s opening day 2-2 draw at home to Swansea.
But after Courtois came straight back in to face West Brom and Crystal Palace, Begovic could be recalled to the starting line-up sooner than he expected.
