Chelsea star’s sale to spark bidding war for Man United target

Chelsea are hoping to sell Andre Schurrle to Borussia Dortmund in order to help fund a move for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado, according to the Express.

Schurrle has recently been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, but it is believe they are baulking at Chelsea’s £27m valuation of the midfielder.

But the Express claim Dortmund are prepared to stump up the large fee as they look to find a replacement for Marco Reus, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

But if Borussia Dortmund decide to go ahead with a deal to sign Schurrle this month, the Express believe it could pave the way for Reus to leave before the summer, with Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool all interested in his signature.

Chelsea are still trying to complete a deal for Cuadrado but are eager to free up the wage bill and raise more funds before the transfer window deadline next week.

And they see the sale of Schurrle to Dortmund as their best possible chance of bringing the Colombian international to Stamford Bridge.
