Chelsea youngster Bertrand Traore has joined Ajax on loan for the 2016/17 season and the Eredivisie giants remain keen on Mario Balotelli of Liverpool, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The Burkina Faso international has long been hailed as one of the best emerging talents in the Blues’ ranks and even broke into their first-team set-up under Guus Hiddink towards the back end of 2015/16.
Traore, who was often picked to lead the line, netted two league goals in total for the London club, but fewer games at Stamford Bridge this coming season and a change of management – Antonio Comte is now in charge – appear to have pushed him down the pecking order, and reports claim that he’s joined Ajax on a season-long deal.
Traore will replace Arkadiusz Milik, who recently moved to Napoli, and boasts a good record in Dutch football after smashing 14 goals in the 2014/15 season while at Vitesse Arnhem.
The transfer is unlikely to have a knock-on effect for Liverpool, with Ajax maintaining their interest in Balotelli.
The controversial Italian is no longer wanted at Anfield and has emerged as a shock target for the Amsterdam side, who are keen to discover their Champions League qualification fate before pushing a deal.
