Former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has denied that he has received any sort of offer from Chelsea.
The Ghana star is currently plying his trade in the Chinese Super League with Shanghai SIPG, where he earns a mind-boggling £227,000-per-week.
However, a series of injuries have plagued his spell in the Far East, and with the arrival of Hulk having shifted the attacking dynamic at the club, and stretched their non-Chinese player quota to breaking point, he could well be pushed out.
Although a move to Chelsea appears to be a bizarre one, there has been reported interest in the 30-year-old from the Blues in the not too distant past, but when quizzed about the situation by Hot FM (via Ghana Soccer Net), he denied speculation that he could be moving to the west end of London.
“I deal with paper work. I have not received any offer from Chelsea I think they are all rumours but I have received a lot of offers from different clubs.” He said.
“And I will take a decision when the right time comes. I am still observing things.”
Gyan starred for Sunderland before leaving the Black Cats in 2011, despite being in his prime, to play in the cash-rich UAE Pro-League with Al-Ain.
He was prolific in the Middle East before joining Shanghai SIPG in 2015, where he has been playing under ex-England boss, Sven Goran-Eriksson.
