Chelsea joined the rest of the Premier League's top six clubs in the fourth round of the FA Cup following a comfortable 4-1 victory at Stamford Bridge over League One side Peterborough United.

Antonio Conte's side had no problem overcoming their lower league opponents, leading 2-0 at half-time and extending their advantage shortly into the second-half, although they will have been disappointed to see John Terry sent off and their clean-sheet snatched away.

Still, Chelsea will look towards this evening's draw with an open mind as they will fancy their chances against whatever opponent is thrown their way, whilst other sides hopeful of going all the way will see the Blues as ones to avoid.

For Peterborough, they won't be too surprised by the result and there were encouraging signs. Here, we've cast a look back to five lessons we learned from the match.

Willian has had to settle with being a bit-part playing in the squad this season, having been the leading man throughout Chelsea's disappointing campaign last term, but he proved his worth today with a goal and continue his record in the process.

This season, the Brazilian has found comfort at Stamford Bridge as all of his of his five goals this season across all competitions have come in West London.

Terry's bad day

John Terry finds opportunities difficult to come by at his age, especially since Antonio Conte took charge, and the club's veteran captain had a day to forget today as he earned himself a straight red-card in the second-half.

After the red, Peterborough scored a goal of their own and against better opposition Chelsea could have struggled. Whilst Chelsea may argue Terry's red card was unfair, the former England skipper will find it difficult to get more opportunities.

Conte getting best of Pedro

Pedro Rodriguez had a woeful first season with Chelsea, failing to set alight the Premier League and impress the supporters at West London, but Antonio Conte has brought the best out of the Spaniard this season and we're seeing the sort of player that used to shine at Barcelona.

A brace today took Pedro's tally for the season to six and whilst those numbers aren't incredible, the fact he also has a further five assists is superb. Into the second-half of the season, Pedro will become increasingly important.

Peterborough did well

Whilst Chelsea's clinical nature in front of goal meant the League One side were never really in the tie as a contest, Peterborough can be pleased with their performance away from home against the Premier League leaders.

Peterborough had numerous chances during the game and also managed to find the back of the net, something many top-flight clubs have struggled to do this season, and the margin of defeat was far from as large as it could have been.

Important goal for Batshuayi

Since signing from Marseille in the summer, Michy Batshuayi has found things difficult so far at Stamford Bridge and hasn't quite had the opportunities he would have expected. In the FA Cup today, Batshuayi earned his first start for Chelsea outside of the League Cup.

With three goals heading into the game, two of which came in the League Cup, Batshuayi needed to perform if he was to have any chance of pushing for more regular opportunities. Getting on the scoresheet should give him a huge boost for the months ahead, although there is areas of his game that need improving.
