AC Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi has pleaded for fans of his side to remain patient with Fernando Torres, as the Spanish striker’s goalscoring troubles continue in Italy.
The Chelsea flop left the Premier League for a two-year loan spell with Milan in the summer hoping that it could reignite his sinking career, yet the one goal he has scored for the Rossoneri since his arrival has led many to believe that the 30 year-old is in terminal decline.
However, Inzaghi is insistent that Torres will come good for Milan.
“I believe Fernando and his way of working,” he said during a press conference.
“He’s come from a period of being inactive and he needs to regain match fitness. Hopefully the goals will come tomorrow [against Sampdoria].”
Milan’s start to the season has been shaky, and they currently sit in 7th place in the Serie A table with 16 points.
