As reported by The Daily Star, Chelsea's first choice to replace Antonio Conte this summer is Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri

What's the story?

With the pressure mounting on Conte after a series of poor results over the last few months, it looks increasingly unlikely that he won't be in charge of the Blues next season.

The Star reckon that Juventus boss Allegri is their first choice to replace the Italian at the end of the season and he has even already agreed to take over.

Is he the right choice to bring glory back to Stamford Bridge?

A good choice?

It’s always hard to know just how successful new managers will be, but what’s clear is that Allegri has the trophy pedigree and experience with big clubs to give him as good as shot as anyone at bringing major honours back to Chelsea.

Having won three domestic doubles over the last three seasons, he’s made Juventus the team to beat in Italy and with two UEFA Champions League finals in that period too, knows how to get the job done on the continent.

That ticks all the boxes for the Blues, whose fans crave that kind of success coming back to the club.

A move for Allegri would show ambition and excite supporters and he’s a manager with the profile to step into his own light at the club, rather than be seen as a follow up to the successful Antonio Conte.

The question is, can they convince him to join?
