Are Chelsea on their way to losing yet again?!

Today is a big day for Chelsea. If they have ambitions to claw their way back into a European spot by the end of the season, they’ll need to make sure they get form back. The only way they’re going to be able to manage it is by hitting form for a few months and going on a run.

So after a few unconvincing games find themselves unbeaten in four games in one of their best runs of form this season. But the Diego Costa situation is the opposite of what should be happening at the moment for Chelsea.

Since the very start of the season Jose Mourinho has been changing his team, but there never seemed to be a particular logic to it. Fabregas and Matic were dropped for poor performances, yet Branislav Ivanovic kept his place up until he got injured.

Now that Costa is out, it’s not Remy or Falcao who comes in for him – although Falcao is injured – but it’s Eden Hazard who is playing as a number nine.

Cheslea’s chopping and changing still smacks of a team who are struggling to find form. If they don’t manage to win today, and win it whilst looking like a good team, then you really do wonder if Chelsea will ever hit form this season.

And their start hasn’t been so convincing…. good job they have Courtois back, then!
