Chelsea are undoubtedly the best side in the Premier League at his current moment, but are they the most entertaining?

Nobody wants to watch a football match where one team passes the ball around their defence aimlessly, and the Blues certainly aren't that team. Chelsea have an average possession of 52.1% so far this season and although that doesn't necessarily mean they play at a fast entertaining pace. Arsenal have the highest average possession so far (60.2%) and past Gunners sides have been excellent to watch with their high possession and fast passing play.

The top sides in the Premier League generally spend the majority of the game on the front foot and that's the case with the shots per game statistic. Manchester City shoot the most, averaging 16.6 per game. Liverpool are in a close second (16) and Chelsea (15.4) make up the top three of the trigger happy sides. Shots are all well and good but you want to see the goalkeeper worked and Chelsea are the most clinical at hitting the target. The Blues hit the target just over six times per game which is slightly more than the entertaining Southampton (5.6).

If you want goals then Chelsea are certainly the team to watch. Mourinho's men have so far scored 21 goals in their opening seven Premier League matches, that's an average of three goals per game. They're a long way ahead of the competition with Man City having scored 14 (2gpg)in the same amount of matches. Manchester United and Everton are also good bets for goals with 13 a piece so far.

The type of goals plays a key part in how entertaining a team is to watch after all penalties and set-pieces are generally all the same. Unsurprisingly Chelsea have the most goals from open play (16) and Man City have the second highest (12). Most football supporters would agree that goals from outside the box are the best and most exciting to watch again and again - surprisingly West Ham lead the way with goals from outside the box with four thus far, and only four other teams have more than one to their name; Everton, Man City, Swansea and Man United.

It mustn't be forgotten that the best teams to watch aren't always the best teams. That sounds like a strange statement but to see lots of goals in a game, a poor defence is sometimes great for entertainment (as a neutral!). So which side in the Premier League has the highest average goals per game for AND against? Due to Chelsea's incredible scoring record they are again right up there with an average of 4gpg in each game they play. Only one team runs them close, and actually surpasses them - and that team is Everton who have already seen 29 goals go into their and the opposition's net (4.1gpg). Not much of a difference but if you want goals, your best bet is to head down to Stamford Bridge or Goodison Park.

If key passes get you excited then find when Manchester City are coming to a stadium near you, and if you like one team dominating possession then The Emirates is still the place to be - however if football is all about goals then you know where to go. Chelsea are exciting to watch, they're fast and furious with a deadly level of attackers.
