Armenian ace’s contract dispute provides huge transfer boost for Arsenal & Chelsea

According to reports from Mirror Football, contract talks have stalled between Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian international has been in incredible form this season, bagging 23 goals and umpteen more assists in 49 appearances for the Black-Yellows across all competitions.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been credited with interest in the attacking midfielder, famed for his netting prowess, scintillating speed and technical flair, ahead of the summer transfer window.

And the latest reports from Mirror Football have provided a timely boost for the Premier League duo’s transfer plans, with talks to extend the 27-year-old’s Westfalenstadion contract beyond 2017 stalling.

Mkhitaryan wants a release clause inserted into his new terms but Dortmund are refusing to oblige, after Bayern Munich poached Mario Gotze by activating a £31million buyout fee back in summer 2013.

That could force Dortmund to cash in during the summer or else run the risk of losing the former Shakhtar star on a free transfer at the end of next season.
