Olivier Giroud joined Chelsea in January from Arsenal, but he went from having a bit-part role to accepting a similar situation at Stamford Bridge.
The striker dropped down the pecking order in his final few seasons at the Emirates, and he played second fiddle to Alvaro Morata at Chelsea.
Now, there are reports that Giroud could be on the move again, with Atletico Madrid said to be interested.
According to Sky Sports News, the Spanish giants have contacted the West London outfit regarding a possible loan deal for the Frenchman.
However, the report claims that the Blues would only be interested in a sale as opposed to a temporary arrangement.
Giroud will return to the UK as a World Cup winner following France’s triumph in Russia.
However, the 31-year-old, who made 13 appearances for Chelsea last season, failed to contribute a goal during the whole tournament.
Most Arsenal fans still hold a place in their heart for Giroud, so some would be content if he were to leave Chelsea, and judging by the reaction to these reports, some Blues supporters would be open to the striker moving on.
