The Belgian stopper has been on loan at the Spanish side since his 2011 arrival at Stamford Bridge, and has developed into one of European football’s most promising young players in the process.
His temporary move is set to end once the current campaign draws to a close, with some rumours suggesting that Jose Mourinho is ready to bring him back to London as backup for Petr Cech.
However, Courtois is desperate to play regularly and has expressed concerns at returning to the Blues to sit on the bench.
This has tempted Atletico, who are ready to offer Chelsea a tempting exchange deal to keep the glovesman at the Vicente Calderon.
The Madrid side are said to be willing to let either Costa or Koke – who are two of the most sought after players in Europe – move to the Premier League side if Courtois is allowed to make his loan switch a permanent one.
Mourinho may be tempted by this, with Costa known to be a target for ‘The Special One’.
He may also be open to taking Koke, with the Spanish midfielder – dubbed the ‘new Xavi’ – having enjoyed an excellent season so far.
