Barcelona looking to revive long-standing interest in Chelsea first-team star (not Hazard)

Barcelona have been impressed by Kenedy’s performances for Chelsea this season and are ready to revive their long-standing interest in the Brazilian this summer, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

The 20-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge last year from Fluminense and despite a slow start to life in London, he’s slowly forced his way into the Blues’ first-team set-up.

Although an attacking player, Kenedy has filled in at left-back under Guus Hiddink of late, and reports claim that his mature showings in league, European and cup competition for the English side have alerted Barcelona.

The Catalans watched the wide-man closely ahead of his move to Chelsea last summer, but opted not to swoop in favour of giving youngsters Munir El Haddadi and Sandro Ramirez chances in the senior set-up

But, he’s now back on their agenda as they look to secure top-quality back-up for Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Kenedy has made 16 appearances this term, netting two goals.
