Blues forward planning summer exit

Chelsea striker Demba Ba is keen to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, reports the Daily Star.

The Senegalese striker was brought to Bridge by Rafa Benitez, but has struggled to get regular football, with Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres ahead of him in the pecking order.

And the lack of playing time is enough to force a move away for Ba, who has admitted his agent is in talks to seal a move away from Jose Mourinho in the summer: “My agent has spoken to the club about a departure and he has started speaking with other clubs about a contract for next season,” Ba said.

“I hope we can find the best option possible. I’d like to stay in England. I like other leagues, too. I’d like to try the Italian league. Nothing’s been confirmed but there are a few teams in Italy who play very good football.”

But Ba did insist he’s still focused on finishing the season strongly with the Blues, stating: “If I leave with at least the title or the Champions League, that would be exceptional.”

The former West Ham and Newcastle United striker has made 14 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring 3 goals. Only 2 of those performances were starts.
