Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato is edging closer to making a move to Premier League champions Chelsea, according to ESPN.
The 26-year old has been linked with both Liverpool and Tottenham, though it appears the Blues have stolen a march on proceedings in order to bring him back to Europe.
While the AC Milan, the Brazilian international was hotly tipped to go on to greatness, though soon fell foul to problems with form and fitness.
‘Sources’ at ESPN Brazil are thought to have revealed the forward has verbally agreed to move to West London this month on a contract worth around £1.77m per year.
Earlier this month, it emerged Pato had rejected lucrative overtures from the Chinese Super League before revealing his desire to play in the Premier League.
Though his stock has fallen somewhat after his move back to Brazil, he enjoyed a two-year loan spell with Sao Paolo, scoring 26 goals in 61 games.
