It’s been two weeks since Chelsea secured their fourth Premier League crown, and they still got another two weeks to wait until they can get their hands on the trophy.
Jose Mourinho’s side have done it in style this season. They’ve lead the standings since August and haven’t looked like surrendering their lead to anyone, even when Manchester City were trailing close behind. The Blues always looked in control and are worthy winners this term.
When you consider the calibre of Chelsea’s squad over the years it’s difficult to put your finger on why they’ve had to wait five years between titles. Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge has certainly got them performing a their best, and his transfer business last summer was of title winning calibre.
But we’ve taken a look back at the Blues’ squad when they last lifted the trophy back in 2009/2010. Carlo Ancelotti was in charge and as they pipped Manchester United to top spot by a single point, scoring an impressive 103 goals in the process.
