Maurizio Sarri was only Chelsea manager for a year and now he’s officially the new head coach of Juventus as he returns to his country of birth.
The players were quick to send their best wishes to their now already ex-boss and one of the latest ones to do it was the Chelsea veteran, Cesar Azpilicueta. The 29-year-old Spaniard took to Instagram to thank Sarri for everything and wish him all the best in the future.
Azpilicueta has been a part of the Chelsea family ever since 2012 when he arrived at the blue side of London from the French side, Marseille.
Since then the Blues captain has played a total of 337 games, scoring nine goals and assisting an incredible 42 in the process. Last season alone, he played a great part in their Europa League triumph with nine appearances to his name throughout the campaign.
This was his second Europa League title, both of which came with him donning the blue shirt – once in 2018/19 and once back in 2012/13 season.
