Chelsea star Radamel Falcao has confirmed that he will be returning to parent club Monaco following his failed loan spell at Stamford Bridge.
The 30-year-old spent the entire campaign with the Blues since his summer arrival on a similar loan spell to the one he went through with Manchester United in 2014/15.
His career at Old Trafford was no different as he also struggled to replicate the kind of form which made him a global star during his days with Porto and Atletico Madrid.
Falcao was previously regarded as one of the most lethal strikers in Europe, but a serious knee injury has put his career at a standstill.
With Chelsea believed to have told the Colombia international that they will not be making his deal permanent, he revealed that he is set to make a return to Monaco.
“Monaco made a big investment in me and they want some return on that. They want me back at the club for next season,” he told TYC Sports.
“I need to have minutes, to play, and we’ll see what happens. Monaco want to see what my position is in a year, to see what possibilities I have.”
He has been unable to hold down a regular role under interim boss Guus Hiddink this season, featuring in only 10 Premier League matches this term, so far scoring one goal in the process.
