Chelsea ace’s future in doubt with Conte yet to make transfer decision

Chelsea star Alexandre Pato’s future at the club is unclear after his agent, Gilmar Veloz, admitted that the Blues are yet to hold talks with his client.

The 26-year-old arrived on a half-season loan during the January transfer window, but struggled to hold down any sort of role under interim manager Guus Hiddink.

And Veloz has revealed that he has not been contacted by new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte over his decision regarding whether or not to keep the forward.

“Chelsea has not given the player, me, or anyone any information regarding Pato’s future,” he told Goal.

“We received the news that Mr. Conte was revising the players in the squad, however, he did not contact Pato or me to talk about his future as well.

“For now, Pato’s future is still in the open, Chelsea has the option to buy, but if they don’t then we will begin looking for other clubs. As of the moment, we must first wait to hear the club’s decision.”

However, the Italy boss has already started planning for the new campaign by handing John Terry a new contract, while also urging the board to bring in a world-class striker.

The addition of another attacker could see Pato’s chances greatly limited, with Conte currently being linked with a host of big names.

Pato has only registered two Premier League appearances since his move from Corinthians, but managed to score his only goal on his club debut.
