Jose Mourinho believes Jamie Vardy has shown enough this season to suggest he can perform at top clubs, according to the Daily Mail.
The Foxes striker is the top scorer in the Premier League this season with 14 goals as his side surprisingly top the Premier League heading into a busy Christmas schedule.
He famously broke the Premier League record set by Ruud van Nistelrooy by scoring in 11 games on the bounce, despite only playing non-league football three years ago.
Still, there had been doubts the 28-year old could translate such success at a bigger club as they are less likely to deploy the counter attacking tactics imposed by Leicester chief Claudio Ranieri this term.
However, Mourinho believes the former Fleetwood Town marksman has done more than enough to interest supposed bigger clubs with his heroic this season.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s trip to King Power Stadium tomorrow evening, he said: ‘He is the top scorer and it is normal big clubs want him.’
‘Even at a big club transitions are important, fast players are important.’
The Blues have been linked with a £30m move for Vardy this winter in light of their own struggles with their attacking department.
Diego Costa, who impressed with his 20 goal haul last year, has been linked with a return to Spain after a series of run ins and poor performances.
