Chelsea boss storms out over Everton and England enforcer inquest

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho stormed out of a pre-match interview over comments surrounding Everton defender John Stones, according to the Daily Mirror.

Quizzed before Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Everton, the Portuguese schemer was asked ‘Everton fans will remind you today that you couldn’t sign John Stones but do you think that creates an extra dimension?’ by BT Sport’s Ray Stubbs.

The Blues boss refused to speak about the situation, stating, ‘before the game, this is too long’ before cutting the interview short.

England defender Stones had been heavily linked with a summer Stamford switch, with the Toffees rejection a trio of bids from the West London side.

A transfer request had earlier been rejected, and the former Barnsley youngster has remained on Merseyside.

A Steven Naismith hat-trick saw Roberto Martinez record a win over Mourinho, subjecting the champions to a third loss of the season – the same amount lost in the entirety of last season, and they currently lie in 16th position.

They return to UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday evening in their clash with Israeli giants Maccabi Tel Aviv.
