Chelsea are chasing a cluster of top players according to Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu, reports the Daily Star.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho was spotted casting a keen eye over Ukraine’s 1-0 defeat to Spain last week, reportedly scouting both Ukrainie forward Andriy Yarmolenko and Spanish midfielder Isco.
However, fellow former Inter Milan manager Lucescu has claimed the ‘Special One’ was after Yevhen Konoplyanka, and holds an interest in Shakhtar forward Alex Teixeira.
Mourinho finds his side struggling in eleven position after a dismal start to their title defence, losing four Premier League games already.
Despite recently condemning Aston Villa to a 2-0 defeat, the Portuguese boss looks set to revamp his squad across the next few transfer windows.
‘Mourinho is interested in Konoplyanka’, said the Shakhtar boss, who added, ‘perhaps it is Yarmolenko or Texeira.’
Sevilla star Konoplyanka only joined the club six months ago from Dnipro in his homeland, and has previously been linked to the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham.
