In the last few days Jurgen Klopp has admitted that one of his prize players could be heading for the Premier League, according to Metro.
Marco Reus has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe since he came into the Dortmund first team in 2012. The winger has impressed both domestically and in the Champions league becoming somewhat of a stalwart in the fairly recent resurgent Dortmund team.
It is no surprise that Reus has been linked with Chelsea considering Schurrle’s recent poor form. There is no doubt that Chelsea current resident left winger is a top player but in recent team selections it is obvious that he is not meeting the high standards that Jose Mourinho sets.
With Reus coming to the last 6 months of his contract there is no doubt he has his admirers but it is said that Chelsea is his desired destination. Although out of contract in the summer it is said that £20million will be enough for Dortmund to let one of their star players to leave in January.
With Borussia reluctant to sell it is said in footballing circles that Klopp would not be adversed to swapping Reus for Schurrle. From the outside looking in the transfer would be ideal for both parties considering the two players current circumstances.
According to reports the deal is well on its way and terms are being discussed. Chelsea are the ones pushing the deal forward but there is still some work to do considering Dortmund are still in the Champions League.
