Chelsea could offload Man United-linked ace if major target deal is agreed

Chelsea could let Nemanja Matic leave Stamford Bridge this summer if N’Golo Kante completes his much talked-about move from Leicester to west London, according to reports from The Guardian.

The Blues have been heavily linked with the Foxes ace over the course of this week, with Le Parisien having even claimed that a £29.2m deal had been settled between the two domestic rivals.

It has since been reported that this is wide of the mark, but with Kante apparently determined to leave the King Power Stadium for Stamford Bridge, the move could yet go ahead.

And The Guardian believe that if the energetic enforcer does join Antonio Conte’s Chelsea overhaul, Matic will be surplus to requirements.

The Serbian was a key figure as the London club coasted to the title in 2014/15 under Jose Mourinho, but his form dipped dramatically last season.

However, reports have indicated that ‘Mou’ is keen on a reunion with the rugged enforcer now he’s at Manchester United, although his pursuit of the towering midfielder may depend on the outcome of the club’s £100m Paul Pogba pursuit, with the Portuguese manager having already admitted he wants a fourth summer signing at Old Trafford.
